Create New [Geo] Dataset

Want to plug and play your own data? Follow the instructions below to create your own dataset and start quizzing!

  1. Download an example CSV file and open in Excel or Google Sheets.
  2. Fill in the 'name' column with the names you want to quiz on. Names can be of anything, any language, spacing, punctuation etc.
  3. Fill in the 'latitude' and 'longitude' columns with the coordinates for each location. Make sure the latitude and longitude are in decimal format (e.g. 40.7128, -74.0060 for New York City).
  4. Fill in the optional 'pattern' column with a regex pattern for each name, if you want spelling to be flexible. For example, if you want to accept both Saint John's and St John's as correct answers for Saint John's, you can fill in the pattern as `S(ain)?t John's`.
  5. Fill in the optional 'tags' column with relevant tags for each name, separated by commas. You may also include color codes like '#E045A4' as tags, which some quiz types may use.
  6. Fill in additional columns with numerical statistics for each name, if relevant. For example, if your dataset is about cities, you could have a column for 'population' and fill it in with the population of each city.
  7. Give your file a unique name and upload it.
